Javier Puche Gil publica un artículo sobre las reducciones de la talla de los mozos durante la posguerra en la Comunidad Valenciana

Javier Puche Gil, Antonio D. Cámara Hueso y José Miguel Martínez Carrión han publicado el artículo en la prestigiosa revista Social Science & Medicine: "Assessing the effects of autarchic policies on the biological well-being: Analysis of deviations in cohort male height in the Valencian Community (Spain) during Francoist regime". Estos son los hallazgos principales:

  1. Height trends must be interpreted as a function of the total burden of cohort exposure.
  2. Height deviations help to assess the impact of environmental stress on nutritional status.
  3. Over 90% of height deviations observed is associated with exposure to autarchy.
  4. The effects of autarchy policies were larger among cohorts exposed during adolescence.
  5. Nutrition levels observed among cohorts 1900–14 were not regained until 1945-49.
